Lexiconnect LLC (the “Company”, “we”, “us”) operates the Vocabulary Journal service, including the Lexi mobile app, the browser extension, and the website at vocabulary-journal.com (together, the “Service”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this policy and to our Terms of Use.

1. Information we collect

Email address	To create your account, verify your identity, reset your password, and send essential service emails.
Display name (optional)	To personalize your account.
Password	Stored only as a salted one-way hash; we never see your plaintext password.
Your content (sentences, notes, journal entries, tags, image attachments)	This is the core of the Service — it is stored so you can access it across devices.
Usage & product analytics	Anonymous-style events (e.g. “sentence created”, screens visited) to understand how the app is used and improve it.
Crash & error diagnostics	To detect and fix bugs and crashes.
Device & technical data	App version, device model, OS version, timezone, and approximate connection info for reliability and localization of timestamps.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; the Service is not directed to them.

2. Third-party services we use

We share the minimum data needed with vendors who process it only on our behalf:

Hosting — our own server (Google Cloud) stores your account and content.
Resend — sends account emails (verification, password reset). Receives your email address.
PostHog — product analytics. Receives usage events tied to a random identifier.
Sentry — crash/error reporting. Receives diagnostic data and your user ID (not your email or content).
Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions and one-time purchases. Stripe handles your card details directly; we never store them.

3. How we use information

To provide and maintain the Service, authenticate you, respond to support requests, send essential service and (optional) promotional emails, process payments, improve features, and keep the Service secure. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or the Company.

4. How we protect information

Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords are hashed. Access to production data is limited. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your rights & choices

Access & export — you can request a copy of your data.
Deletion — you can delete your account and associated content at any time from the app, or by emailing us.
Marketing opt-out — unsubscribe links are in every promotional email; essential service emails may still be sent.

6. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your content from live systems; residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on our regular backup rotation.

7. International users

We are based in the United States and process data there. By using the Service you consent to this transfer.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be announced by email or a prominent notice, and take effect 30 days after notice. Continued use of the Service means you accept the updated policy.
